Where did you get married?
Isham Family Farm, Vermont
Why did you choose to get married at Isham Family Farm?
We met at Middlebury College in Vermont, and wanted to return to our favorite place. Isham Family Farm is conveniently located near downtown Burlington, owned by the sweetest couple, and is just the most beautiful place 🙂
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Of course I couldn’t pick one moment!
Elle, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
The bridesmaids wore navy jumpsuits and the groomsmen wore navy suits, which looked so elegant with the backdrop of peak Vermont foliage. The ceremony took place on a grassy knoll overlooking the mountains and we even lucked out with 60 degree sunny weather in late October. We had maple creemees & apple cider doughnuts for dessert, tasteful Taylor Swift references (as many as Jack would allow), Santa Barbara-centric coffee table book for people to paste their polaroids, dirty martinis, disco balls we hung in the barn, tables named after our favorite hikes, and wedding emblem including an outline of Camel’s Hump, which you could see from the ceremony, golden hour cocktails ft. disco music, and my favorite potato chips (Bonilla a la Vista).
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
My dear friend (& bridesmaid) Grace is an artist, so she worked with us for a year leading up to the wedding to have our vision come to life. She created a wedding logo for us, which included some of our favorite things: mountains, martinis, fish! Her designs were featured on our cocktail napkins, matchbooks, and seating chart. One of my favorite parts of having a long engagement/ planning time (~2 years) was getting to know our amazing vendors. We had the coolest cocktail team, loveliest venue owners, sweetest floral designer, etc.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
Our best investment was time-just having more than one year to plan really let us take the time to figure out what we wanted to prioritize.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
I wish I wouldn’t have been so stressed, but I think that would’ve been the case no matter what!
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
I loved that it was extremely customizable and we were not limited to a few templates. It allowed us to use some of the designs Grace created for our wedding!

Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
Be proactive! Do not assume that your vendors will know what you want- make sure you outline your goals ahead of time with them.
