We are so thrilled to share Freya and Tom’s wedding. Their ceremony and reception were held at The Farm Yarra Valley, which set the tone for a modern, neutral, and natural wedding.
Looking out to the rolling lawns, the vineyards and gardens, the elegant farmhouse at the top of a hill with its red brick walls was the perfect venue. The details of this wedding were also truly noteworthy–from the bride’s enchanting dress to the rustic event styling. There’s so much emotion in every frame.
Where did you get married?
The Farm Yarra Valley in Warrandyte South, Victoria
Why did you choose to get married at The Farm Yarra Valley?
The venue aesthetics and location. We just always knew that’s where we wanted to get married.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
The Ceremony. I obviously wasn’t able to see what the set-up looked like beforehand as it was uniquely put together by our vendors, but as soon as I saw it I was blown away and it was honestly so perfect. I am usually such an anxious person so I was incredibly nervous to have all eyes on us, but I found this confidence in myself that I had never felt before and Tom was really the only person I had any focus on
Freya, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
It was very neutral and natural with pops of sage green, blush pink and peach. We wanted a very modern wedding theme that felt seamlessly put together.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
Probably organising my hair and makeup with @hannahhockingmakeup. She was also one of my bridesmaids, so I felt incredibly confident that she would nail everything. She knows my vibe and what I like so well, it just worked out perfectly. I also loved working with @kailajaneceremonies – she put together the most magnificent ceremony and just understood Tom and I from the get go.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
I can’t pinpoint one thing – everything was entirely worth it for me.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Probably to allow more time for photos after the ceremony and before the reception. We could have pulled our ceremony forward an hour to allow for enough daylight before 6pm because we didn’t have daylight savings to take more photos together and with our bridal party.
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
We could make it entirely our own. A great way to also track RSVPs and update guests on our postponed details.
Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
I didn’t sleep for legitimately 5 months before the wedding – I was so so stressed. But it was seriously really worth it. Every detail counts, even if you don’t realise it when you’re planning. Just absolutely enjoy the day – it went so fast!
