What’s not to love about a park wedding? It’s intimate, convenient, and best of all, budget-friendly!
Quail Hollow Ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains is an unspoiled spot with breathtaking mountain backdrops. It was perfect for Mick and Ella’s vision of their big day – formal and magical!
Ella was captivating in her attire – a modern Filipiniana terno and a classic panuelo, that did not only exude tradition but effortless elegance. Mick and his groom’s men, on the other hand, looked dashing in their Barong Tagalog.
Let’s take a peek at some of the beautiful details of this couple’s intimate wedding!
Where did you get married?
Quail Hollow Ranch in Santa Cruz, California
Why did you choose to get married at Quail Hollow Ranch?
First off, it fit within our budget which was important to us. We were also looking for an outdoor vibe with mountain backdrops. It really felt private even though it was a public place.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
The most memorable part was the energy that everyone brought. We felt so loved and supported. The speeches really brought this home for us.
Mick, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
Imagine a Filipino cookout… the music, the dancing, the Lechon, and the style meets the Santa Cruz mountains. It was a laid-back vibe and everyone was just having a good time.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
WedSites made it easy to keep track of our vendors and the vendors really were the best part! We got to meet our community, had local kombucha on tap, and even hired a local Yakitori grill master here in Santa Cruz.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
We actually spent the money we would’ve booked a restaurant for our welcome party into actually updating our backyard. We then threw a welcome party in our backyard with an open invitation to all of our guests and it really set the tone for the whole weekend. It kept the party going for three days straight!
Is there anything you would have done differently?
We would’ve vetted some of our vendors out better in the very beginning. We rushed some of the choices and made some decisions based on budget.
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
The communication with the guests and keeping track of who was coming to which events was clutch! Don’t really know how we would’ve been able to plan this on such short notice without it.
Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
It’s going to be stressful no matter what, but make it what you want and not what others want of it. We stuck with our plan and are reminded of our wedding every day!
