Real Wedding: Matt and Leah

From start to finish Matt and Leah’s wedding was beautifully detailed. The couple’s style continued to shine throughout their ceremony and wedding party.

The duo tied the knot at the luxurious Orchard restaurant in Calgary. The greenery, tall ceilings, and chandeliers were absolutely breathtaking. Congratulations Matt and Leah on a beautiful wedding and what will be a beautiful life together, too!

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Seeing my wife walk down the aisle, she is stunning and perfect! As many can attest, I was quite emotional at that moment. That, and, being surrounded by our loved ones. We waited a lot longer to get married than we wanted to but it was well worth it to be surrounded by everyone that is so special to us. It wouldn’t have been the same without them.

Matt, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

Our venue, Orchard restaurant in Calgary, is beautiful. Full of greenery, tall ceilings with hanging plants and chandeliers. All neutral, earthy colours, made it great for a fall wedding. We had a cocktail style reception with served canapés and great cocktails. While it was tasteful, we partied! A lot of drinks and dancing! The joints jar was a fan favourite 😉

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

It was stressful, to be honest! Picking the venue and our music. Leah and I had a lot of fun picking music and spent half that night crying.

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

A good quality photo booth. Leah found this company, Our Lavish Guests, that took photos and then edited them on the spot and printed them for guests to have a keep sake. But the photos from that were incredible quality!

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Read your contracts! Especially with covid, make sure there is a clause in there for that. We moved our wedding date three times and luckily all our vendors were very accommodating and most included that anyway.

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?

The ability to match the websites with the venue and our botanist theme, which was very easy to do using WedSites.

Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?

Stressed less for sure, the day will be perfect regardless! But I would say not to get hung up over the little things. People are there for you and to have a great time with you.
