Melbourne newly weds Sharni and Hayden share their wedding day highlights and their advice for other couples! The duo (and their pup) tied the knot outdoors at the beautiful Bramleigh Estate in Warrandyte.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Our ceremony. Being able to stand there side by side in front of all our favourite people seeing their reactions to “our story”. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining down on us and after a very long year we had finally made it to that moment and it couldn’t have been any better!

Sharni, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

Tying in with the white bright Hamptons style façade of our venue, we opted for “light and bright”. We had pastel coloured flowers and a sea of blue.

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

Seeing it all come together on the day! Planning a wedding was super stressful during the COVID pandemic but when the day finally arrived for all the plans to be put in motion, everything just fell into place and it was nice to be able to relax on the wedding morning and take it all in!

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

We hired a professional dog sitter. Our blue staffy Henri is pretty much our world and there was no way he wasn’t going to be involved in some way. We thought about having a family friend or someone look after him on the day, but opted for a professional wedding day dog chaperone. They picked him up, brought him to the venue, looked after him before and after the ceremony, assisted in getting our photos and took him home again after to feed him dinner and put him to bed. It meant we did not have to worry about him all day and had peace of mind that he was in the best hands for the day!

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I would have paid for an additional hour at the wedding reception because time really does fly when your having fun!

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?

Being able to set the tone of the day through our wedding website. Our guests loved being able to get all the details on there and to look at all our engagement shoot photos we uploaded. The RSVP manager and table organiser also made life a whole lot easier.

Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?

Don’t be afraid to reach out to your vendors. Something you may be stressed over may be simply answered by them, after all they are experts and spend a lot of time at weddings, they have probably seen it all!
