Canadian newly weds Kim and George share their wedding day and advice for couples getting married next year! The duo tied the knot outdoors at their home. The bride was stunning in a sweetheart dress clutching a show-stopping bouquet of flowers while the groom looked dashing in a neutral waistcoat and pants.

The romantic vibes continued on to their reception with friends and family dancing and dining under a beautiful tent. A truly magical and memorable day!

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

The most memorable part of the day was the moment my ladies and I were standing, waiting to walk down the aisle. To see all of our guests sitting waiting for us. Realizing this is it, a whole year of planning was finished and it was time to enjoy it!

To hear my song and to start walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing the happiness on our family and friends’ faces. Then looking ahead and seeing my soon to be husband waiting for me. It was so precious, all of it!

Kim, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

Our wedding theme was summer. We were married in our yard, with rose petals strewn down the aisle. Our reception was in a tent.

My bridesmaids and flower girls were all in pastel colours – pink, blue, purple, green, yellow, and orange so they were my pops of colour, the tent was decorated with white linen, candles and greenery. Simple and elegant!

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

It was all my favourite! My most important part of planning was to ensure the day came off without a hitch, that my guests were never waiting and that everyone had the best day.

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

I would absolutely recommend a wedding website. It keeps you organized which is absolutely essential to make sure your day runs smoothly.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Having a wedding at home, there was a lot of work to do the morning of. I had a lot of help but I wish I would’ve hired someone to worry about it all that day so that I could enjoy a relaxing morning with my family and friends.

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?

A huge part of planning is knowing how many guests will be attending. It was so valuable to be able to communicate with my guests so quickly and not by mail. If people missed the rsvp deadline I knew immediately and didn’t have to wonder if they received their invitation – WedSites has an invaluable tracking feature so you know who has opened up any communication from you!

Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?

Envision the day, from start to finish. Write many lists! Have fun planning. It is stressful but it is so fun! Then your wedding day arrives, you get to enjoy the fruits of your labour then it is all finished.
