Andrew and Lesley transformed The Field Museum into a dazzling celebration filled with color, sparkles, and candlelight. From hot pink, deep blue, and purple hues to breathtaking floral arrangements and glowing candlelit centerpieces, every detail radiated vibrancy and joy.
The couple exchanged vows beneath overflowing pillars of pink orchids, setting the tone for a night of pure magic. And when the party started? A 12-piece band kept the dance floor alive, making it a night of non-stop energy, excitement, and unforgettable memories!

Where did you get married?
The Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois
Why did you choose to get married at The Field Museum?
I am from Chicago, and have always DREAMED of getting married somewhere historic and special in the city! We met on North Avenue beach, and Andrew proposed at the Shedd Aquarium. We will be lifelong Chicago residents!
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
How happy we were. It was the absolute happiest day of our lives- and we had our own sweetheart table, where we got to share some special moments away from all of the guests, which we really enjoyed!!
Lesley, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
COLOR. SPARKLES. CANDLES. Our wedding was super colorful- with colors of hot pink, deep blue, and purple. The ceremony had overflowing pillars of pink orchids on either side of the aisle!! And the tables had tall arrangements with candles hanging off of them. Fun!! It was such a happy, VIBRANT event we had a 12 piece band that made the party AMAZING!
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
Making the website was honestly one of my favorite parts. I wrote a whole story on how we met, and how he proposed, which was so fun to read to him one night over dinner. 🙂 I also wrote bios about each of my bridesmaids, which I had a great time writing and sharing with them when the website was published!
Other favorite part?! Going to Kehoe for our design meeting. MAGIC!!
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
The band. Our band (Becca Kaufman Orchestra) absolutely made our party incredible.
We had a basket of ballet flats ( labeled with size!) for any guest who wanted to take off high heels and enjoy the dance floor!!!
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Stress less- this process should be nothing but joy. What are we doing this whole thing for anyway?! Love!!
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding
The beautiful design- and the ability to customize! My wedding website looked unique, and very Lesley- it wasn’t cookie cutter like I feel some of the other sites are!!

Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
Remind each other you love each other every day. It may get stressful, especially with family members – but you are a TEAM and a new family yourselves, so take some space together if you can, even just for a day or two.
