When it came time to choose their wedding venue, Selena and Paul were immediately drawn to the classic elegance of The Tannery Boutique in Woolston, Christchurch. With its cathedral ceilings, stained glass windows, oakwood finishes, and decorative tile flooring, the atrium offered a stunningly timeless backdrop that needed little embellishment.
Their vision for the day was just as refined—black-and-white tones, elegant white florals, and a sophisticated dress code that extended to the guests, complete with a cheeky nod to red-bottom heels. From the venue to the details, every element of the celebration was designed to embody timeless beauty and understated luxury.

Why did you choose to get married at The Tannery?
We loved the classic styling of the atrium, which has been done up in a very classic and timeless way. With Oakwood, decorative tile flooring, cathedral ceilings, stained glass windows. The venue itself is gorgeous without having to add a lot of additional florals to make it a stunning space.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Getting to marry the love of my life, but the vows were definitely a highlight. We asked each guest for song requests along with marriage advice… Some of which were very light-hearted.
Selena, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
Very timeless with black-and-white as the theme, not to forget the red bottom heals 😉 including the guests were asked to wear this as well White florals. Again a very timeless venue, so wanted to keep everything timeless and classic.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
As we are big foodies, planning the Menu and choosing a nice selection of wine.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
Would definitely have to be the Photo Booth.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Definitely hire a wedding planner
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
A really easy way to communicate with guests on mass but also make it a very personal message to each individual.
Really good way to summarise people’s dietary requirements and also ask questions like what songs do you want hear on the dance floor and marriage advice were a few questions that we asked with the RSVP’s and then download it to a Excel spreadsheet once all the information has been gathered.
Along with the day or so after being able sent the link to the photo Booth out to all of the people that attended.
