Where did you get married?

Cedar Ridge in Columbus, Indiana

Why did you choose to get married at Cedar Ridge?

It brings to life our love of the outdoors and it’s near where we got engaged.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Seeing all of our family and friends together in one place celebrating. Saying our vows in front of our friends and family and sharing our love with them. Our friend married us and we celebrated that with a bourbon toast. I loved getting to bring some small pieces of South Africa, where my husband is from to Indiana. His mother had our runners and napkins made for us and brought them over. Our wedding designer and stationare helped bring our visions to life.

Megan, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

Our theme was South African Bush wedding chic in southern Indiana.  We were so lucky that the leaves just started turning.  Our colors were a terra cotta color, neutrals and natural white and greens.

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

Seeing it all come together.

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

Hiring the right vendor. Christy of Creative in Bloom really made all the difference for us.  She guided us and brought our thoughts to life.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

There are always things I think people would change looking back on everything.  I think the day came together so perfectly that helped with the small insignificant details that didn’t go as planned.

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?

Our wedding designer told us about WedSites. She uses it for her website designs. It offers great benefits and I loved that it helped me track my responses to multiple events.
