Beachy, laid-back vibe meets simple, minimalist theme with soft muted tones of ivory, pink and gold in Elena and Adam’s wedding at the Surf Life Saving Club on Main Beach in the heart of Byron Bay.
Apart from Elena’s gown, which was stunning, the use of pink as the main accent throughout key details of this wedding was very pleasing. The subtle shades look beautiful on the entourage dresses, floral arrangements, and tablescape.

Where did you get married?
Byron Bay – Surf Life Saving Club
Why did you choose to get married at Surf Life Saving Club?
Adam grew up in Byron Bay and spent many years volunteering for the Surf Club. Many of his family, including his father, are life members of the Surf Club. In fact, his grandfather was the club president when the building we got married in was first built. The Clark name is on many of the plaques and trophies around the venue which was very special.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
We did a first look before the ceremony with just our closest family and bridal party. Adam was looking out over the ocean and I walked up behind him and when he turned around and I saw him in his suit and he saw me in my dress, tears welled up for both of us. We had waited so long for this day and it finally hit us both that it was happening and it was the best feeling ever!
Elena, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
Since the wedding was held near the beach in Byron Bay the style and theme were minimalist beachy vibes with soft muted tones of Ivory, Pink & Gold.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
Doing the taste tests for the menu – both mains and cake. So delicious! We also really loved seeing all the messages and notes come in with people’s RSVPs on the wedding website we created.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
Hiring Lori from Lulabelle Events. She was our wedding planner, stylist, and on-the-day coordinator. Lori’s attention to detail was incredible. She took my vague ideas, Pinterest board, and descriptions and turned them into a dreamy reality I would never have been able to conceive myself. She was an absolute dream to work with. She would offer ways to achieve the same aesthetic without blowing the budget and also without compromising on quality by thinking outside the box. An example of this was our candles (purchased from Southern Lights & Co). By having a mix of pillar and floating candles we could stick within budget and as she pointed out the floating candles tied in nicely to our theme as our wedding was by the beach.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
I’d do almost everything exactly the same. The only thing we didn’t do quite enough of was family portraits in the morning when we had more time.
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
Being able to track all our RSVPs in one place and being able to direct guests to the website to answer questions about the timeline, transport, dress code etc. It made the whole planning process a lot easier and stress-free.
Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
Like the good doctors in my favourite show Grey’s Anatomy, “One bleeder at a time”. If you try and organise everything in one go you will panic and get stressed. Just go one decision at a time and definitely use a wedding planner.
