Nikolina and Oliver’s wedding at Longview Vineyard in Macclesfield, South Australia was a vibrant, fun, and relaxing affair.

With a modern style and a touch of rustic charm from the Longview Barn, the celebration was truly unique. The couple’s personalities shone through in the vibrant pastel colors used throughout the decor, especially the light pink elements in the signage, menus, and napkins.

The pastel flowers further brightened the space, creating a joyful atmosphere that perfectly captured the essence of their special day.

Where did you get married?

Longview Vineyard in Macclesfield, South Australia

Why did you choose to get married at Longview Vineyard?

We really loved the secluded nature of the venue, the ease of on-site accommodation, and the beautiful view of the vineyards from the outside and in the reception. We also were really impressed with how organised and friendly the staff were.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

How vibrant everything was! We wanted our florist to incorporate as much colour as possible to the flowers so that they could stand out against the beautiful vineyard and barn, and to show our personalities in a different way. She incorporated so many beautiful pastel colours, especially when it came to creating our arbour that we used in the reception hall also.

We also loved how items like our menus, table runners, and candles really added our personality to it.

Nikolina, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

We wanted our wedding to be colourful, fun, and relaxing for our guests. Our style was more on the modern side but still had a slight rustic element through the use of the Longview Barn as our reception hall.

We had vibrant pastel colours, and intentionally did this to add fun and a sense of our personalities to our day. We incorporated a lot of light pink elements into our signage, menus, and napkins while using other pastel colours in the flowers to really brighten the space.

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

How amazing our vendors were! They made planning a wedding from interstate really easy.

We loved meeting and working with our photographers – Wilson & Lewis Photography. They really helped us feel comfortable and helped us plan our wedding. They are also two of the loveliest people we have ever met!

The amazing staff at Longview Vineyard also helped us visualise everything and added structure to the wedding. They made sure that everything worked without our needing to know on the day.

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

We highly recommend meeting with an event coordinator to at least get a sense of what design/ colours/ vibe you’re after for your wedding. We met with Libby Styles simply to help us figure out our overall look for the wedding. She provided a detailed brief that included vendor recommendations, colour pallet ideas and suggestions for arbour designs and such. This really helped us get a sense for our preferred colour pallets and how to achieve our wedding look.

We also recommend investing in great photography/ videography. Great photos and videos for us were a high priority. We looked at works of Wilson & Lewis Photography on their Instagram and we knew that their style was something we really wanted. We have been blown away just from the sneak peeks that they provided alone, and can’t wait to receive the other photos and videos.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I honestly don’t think we would change anything. Our wedding went so perfectly, and we were absolutely blown away with how everything came together.

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding

We really loved how customisable WedSites was! We found that we could add our own feel to the website without paying additional fees to do so.

We also loved the concept of having all the information in one place for our guests, rather than investing money in stationery to print this information out. We were able to use funds that would have been dedicated to printing towards things like hiring items, splurging a bit more on the drinks package and other things.

Nikolina and Oliver’s customed designed wedding website

Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?

We were really glad that we waited a little bit before starting to plan our wedding. We wanted to enjoy being engaged without the pressure of planning a wedding.

We also recommend booking the celebrant, venue, photography/ videography, and florists first as soon as you are ready to plan your wedding. We found that great vendors in these categories often have a lengthy waiting period and we were able to work with vendors in these categories mostly because we booked them early.

We also kept a shared checklist through the Reminders app on our iPhones to make sure we didn’t miss anything and shared calendar events to remind us of when vendors needed to be paid.

Finally, we started setting money aside to help fund our wedding early. We thought that this really helped us save and allowed us to invest in ‘splurge’ items.
