Roxy and Toby’s wedding at a private property in Shropshire was a dreamy blend of English countryside charm and Mediterranean flair. Inspired by their engagement in Italy, the couple infused their day with sunshine-filled details in shades of yellow, ivory, and olive green.
From tables adorned with vibrant flowers, lemons, and oranges, to bridesmaids dressed in varying tones of yellow, every element reflected warmth and joy. With the ceremony set against the lush greenery of the countryside and accented by cheerful floral arrangements, their celebration felt like a perfect fusion of rustic romance and Italian summer elegance.

It’s a family home
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
We had a wonderful ceremony that was a fusion of three different cultures. We started with a humanist ceremony with readings in English and German. We then followed it with a Christian blessing and closed it with a Persian blessing. Our families were involved in different parts of the ceremony, and we had readings in all three languages. It was such a beautiful way to incorporate and acknowledge the different parts of us that are coming together in this marriage.
Roxy, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?
Our wedding was an English countryside wedding coming together with a Mediterranean flair. We got engaged in Italy, so really wanted to bring in some of that atmosphere into the theme. We used different shades of yellow, ivory and olive green to bring it all together. The decorations on the tables were yellow flowers mixed with lemons and oranges. We had Indian block print napkins in a wonderful sunny yellow and the bridesmaids were dressed in different shades of yellow. The ceremony was outside, so we had a wonderfully green background mixed with the yellow flower arrangements.
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
Choosing the theme, the colours, and the style. And definitely tasting the food and wine.
What was the best investment you made for your wedding?
Getting a wedding planner! It made all the difference. Trying to bring together a wedding with three different cultures definitely required someone to help us navigate it all.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
No, we loved it all! If anything, maybe don’t stress so much beforehand, but that’s always easier to say afterwards.
What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?
We were able to customise the entire website and even upload our initials as the logo for the tab. We loved that we could create the website in two languages – it was super helpful to share information with everyone.
Wedding planning is notoriously stressful. Now that you’ve gone through the process, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for couples who are currently in the midst of planning theirs?
It’s worth it in the end. I know everyone says it, and when you’re in the middle of pre-planning stress, it’s hard to believe, but it always comes together in the end, everyone has a great time, and it’s just the best day. Appreciate every second of it and try to take a moment in the week leading up to it. It’s all going to go by so quickly.
