What a treat it is to be sharing Tram Huong and Dylan’s big day!

One of our favourite elements is how they added a modern twist to a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony before their civil ceremony. We love how Tram and Dylan brought in their own take on tradition to honour their families.

A lot of love went into this beautiful wedding, and we think you’re going to love it all!

Where did you get married?

Pavilion on the Green at Bonnie Doon Golf Club in Pagewood, New South Wales.

Why did you choose to get married at Pavilion on the Green at Bonnie Doon Golf Club?

We had family connections to the venue and we were blown away by it when we went to an open day. The grounds are immaculate, the marquee absolutely incredible and it was so easy to work with the team from both Bonnie Doon and Bennelong. The process was made so easy and there was not an issue that couldn’t be solved.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Our ceremony in its entirety – it definitely didn’t go smoothly but it was unique to who we are as a couple. Misplacing my vow card, getting stage fright and forgetting some lines of the four gratitudes and being pleasantly surprised that our dog, Coco was a ring bearer (something I had forgotten on the day!), are all little things that made our ceremony wholesome and less rigid.

Having my parents walk me down the aisle, incorporating a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony before the civil ceremony (something we consulted my family about) was an alteration to tradition which normally involves families as witnesses, but was so special to share with all of our guests.

Tram Huong, paint us a picture. What was the theme, style, colors, and overall vibe of your wedding day?

Relaxed chic boho, cream/dark red/pinks.

Overall vibe was that it was an inclusive, fun, big dance party! Our ceremony was outside under two big trees on the 18th hole of Bonnie Doon Golf Club. Our reception was held a few metres away in a glorious white marquee.

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

Customising our ceremony to include the Vietnamese Tea Ceremony was absolutely such a joy and involved so much planning and liaising with family members and Dylan. We were so proud to incorporate it and have both our families involved.

Another part was being able to buy my wedding dress secondhand with my mum off Still White, and also getting an Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) made for me using material from Vietnam.

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

Having an amazing photographer and videographer! You will look back on this day for years to come and having an excellent person to work with (Declan) was absolutely such a smooth process. We had worked with Declan for our engagement the year prior and he is hands down such a talented person and a gem to work with!

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Be clear about what you want your ceremony to look like as you walk out after the ceremony (in terms of having confetti or a clear pathway of where you are going to go etc).

What was your favorite part of using WedSites for your wedding?

The dietary requirements were super helpful! We had 20 people with dietary requirements so it was so good to keep track of them. Also when people RSVP’d, the questions that asked them of their best marriage advice were such a lovely anecdote to read!
